Where to ride in Washington, DC

• Mount Vernon Trail — Follows the Potomac from Rosslyn past Reagan National down to Mount Vernon, with the best monument views in the region.
• Capital Crescent Trail — Paved rail-trail from Georgetown up to Bethesda — the busiest and most social path in the area.
• W&OD Trail — The 45-mile backbone of Northern Virginia riding, running from Arlington out to Purcellville.
• Rock Creek Park — A shady climb straight out of the city; the lower stretch closes to cars on weekends.
• C&O Canal Towpath — Flat crushed-stone towpath from Georgetown toward Great Falls and beyond — the go-to for gravel and bikepacking.
